The prosecution instructed a fire expert, who concluded that only our client could have set the fire from inside the locked house, indicating that it could only have been deliberate ignition.
Our client was at risk of losing her child and serving a lengthy prison sentence if found guilty of starting the fire, which caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.
