National Legal Service Supports Vulnerable Man Get the Care and Protection he Needs

Last year we were instructed by Mark* (not his real name).

Mark had been in a relationship with his wife for many years, they had two grown up children together. Throughout the relationship he was subjected to verbal, emotional and physical abuse.

Mark is disabled, his wife also neglected him and prevented him from receiving regular care from carers.

He was repeatedly abused physically, his wife would shove, hit, and call him abusive names, she would also threaten to stop caring for him. His wife’s unpredictable behaviour left Mark in fear that she would return to the property to harm him.

Our specialist team took initial instructions from Mark and secured legal aid on his behalf.

They carefully completed his witness statement and submitted an application to the Court for an ex-parte non-molestation order which was granted on an interim basis and then later made final at the return hearing.

We are pleased to tell you Mark is delighted with the outcome; he has moved on with his life and is now getting the care and support he needs from his family to move forward.
