National Legal Service Obtains Non-Molestation Order For Client After The First Application Was Refused

Our Client *Mina was referred to National Legal Service by the police after her former partner harassed her.

She wanted to obtain a non-molestation order (NMO) as her ex-partner continued to call and harass her even though their relationship had ended.

Unfortunately, our application for an NMO was not granted in the first instance. As a result, the application was placed on notice. Following this, we attended an on notice telephone hearing. Mina speaks Urdu, so we booked an Urdu translator to attend the hearing for our client’s benefit.

Following this meeting, we secured the NMO. We were able to secure the NMO due to our client’s ex-partner breaching bail conditions on two separate occasions. In addition, National Legal Service was able to demonstrate to the courts that Mina’sex-boyfriend had been arrested and released the next day due to these breaches. Therefore the NMO was necessary for Mina’s protection.

The NMO was granted for six months. Our client now feels safe and able to live with her family in peace. Her ex-partner has not breached the NMO.
