NLS Represents Father in contesting Child Arrangement Order

NLS Represents Father in contesting Child Arrangement Order

National Legal Service was approached by our former client, *Stephen to support him in a new case. His former partner had made an application against him for enforcement of a Child Arrangement Order.

Stephen sought legal advice from National Legal Service when he became aware of the application. The mother of our client’s child stated that the previous court arrangements had broken down because the children no longer wished to have contact with their mother due to her allegedly being controlling.

The children’s mum made the application with the intention of having the children returned to her care. In addition, she is also seeking reimbursement for time taken off work to see the children, who then did not arrive for the contact sessions.

Due to the nature of this case, a guardian has been appointed to consider what actions would be in the best interests of the children. This will help guide the court in considering their wishes and feelings and allow their voices to be heard. The children remain in our client’s care.

This court case is currently ongoing. The client approached us with all the documentation to make an application for legal aid. Once funding was granted, we were able to take our client’s full instructions regarding his position and are currently representing him at the court hearing, which is taking place remotely.
