Earlier this year we were instructed by Juliet* (not her real name) Juliet came to us for help via National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV).
Juliet was suffering abuse from her ex-partner and feared she was at risk from further harm without legal protection. In an all to frequent scenario, Juliet’s ex-partner would not accept the relationship was over, refusing to leave her alone; he subjected her to verbal abuse and harassment, he was also violent towards her, assaulting her on occasions.
The family team at National Legal Service supported Juliet through the application of an ex-parte non-molestation order. The order was granted for 6 months. Juliet’s abuser was served and attended the return hearing where he agreed to the order on a no admission basis. The order was made final and in place until it expired.
Upon gaining this order Juliet felt protected, she is much happier, feels safe and no longer living in fear from her Ex who has not breached the order to date.
