Priti joined the National Legal Service Care Team in November 2020 having qualified as a solicitor in 2002.
She is an experienced in the areas of family and child care law with a dedicated background in legal aid work. Her focus is now on public law children work, ranging from child protection conferences, pre-proceedings under the public law outline (PLO) and care, supervision and emergency protection order applications. She is experienced in adoption cases, including challenging an adoption order after the grant of care and placement orders being made in favour of the local authority. She has represented clients on applications for a Special Guardianship Order, both freestanding and within public law proceedings. Her clients have included parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, siblings and also children.
Priti is a trustee for a registered UK Charity and is heavily involved in community work. She has a passion for all music and enjoys yoga. She speaks fluent Gujarati and Hindi and has a working knowledge of Urdu and Punjabi.
In June 2019, Priti achieved The Law Society Accreditation in the Children Law Scheme, identifying her as an expert in this area of law. She is also a Member of the Association of Lawyers for Children.
Priti is a confident advocate and aims to attend all court hearings on her cases, providing a complete and seamless service to her clients. Her next goal is to apply for Higher Rights of Audience (civil), so she is able to represent her clients in the higher courts too.
