Helen qualified as a solicitor in 2000 and has specialised in dealing with all aspects of family law throughout this time. She specialises in dealing with Divorce and Dissolution matters aswell as Financial matters resulting from relationship breakdown. Helen also deals with pre and post nuptial agreements and cohabitation disputes as well as domestic abuse matters and children matters.
Helen is located in the Liverpool Office and has a busy practice that covers Merseyside/Wirral and Cheshire generally, but she accepts instructions nationally.
Helen is a member of Resolution, a national organisation which promotes dealing with matters in a non-confrontational approach. Helen is also an accredited specialist with Resolution with her specialisms in private Children and Domestic Abuse. Helen is also a committee member for Cheshire & North Wales Resolution and also the Treasurer.
Helen is also a trained Collaborative Lawyer which is a type of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR). The process involves individuals who wish to settle their matter without recourse to the Court each instructing a collaboratively trained solicitor with the work being conducted around the table instead of the traditional way of through correspondence.
Helen has a sensitive approach in dealing with her clients and acknowledges that for most clients who need to call on her expertise are going through an emotional time. Helen’s focus is always to do what is best for her clients and often she will need to adopt a rigorous approach so as to achieve the best possible outcome.
In her spare time, Helen enjoys reading and travelling and walking with her Border Terrier dog name Elle.
